COLLISION DAMAGE WAIVER WITH ZERO EXCESS (CDW)
The renter is insured for the rental vehicle damaged by accident with no obligation to pay any excess.
FULL COLLISION DAMAGE WAIVER WITH ZERO EXCESS (FDW & WUG)
The renter is insured for damages caused to the underside of the vehicle, glass, tires and engine with no obligation to pay any excess. It may also be referred as Super Collision damage waiver (SCDW) or Full collision damage waiver (FCDW) or Wheels under side and glass insurance (WUG)
THEFT PROTECTION WITH ZERO EXCESS
The renter is insured in case the vehicle is stolen, except if theft occurs because of negligence. Any stolen belongings in the interior of the car (eg. cameras, travel bags or cell-phones) are not covered by any insurance.
PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE (PL)
The renter’s liability is covered to a maximum of €1.000.000 for death and bodily injuries and €1.000.000 for material damages. May also referred as PLI.
PERSONAL ACCIDENT INSURANCE (PAI)
Passengers of the rental vehicle are insured for death or bodily injuries in case of accident to a maximum of €1.000.000. Driver is insured to the amount of €15.000.
Car hire Terms & Conditions
AGE REQUIREMENTS
The age of the renter and driver must be at least 20 years old. The renter must own and present a valid driving license for at least 12 months. The maximum acceptable age of the driver is 70 years old.
ADDITIONAL DRIVERS
Additional drivers can be registered without any additional charge. Maximum two (2) drivers including the main driver are allowed per rental.
MILEAGE
Our rates include unlimited mileage. There is no limit regarding the distance cover
TAXES
V.A.T (Value Added Tax) 24% is included in our rates
DELIVERY & COLLECTION OF VEHICLES
We can deliver/collect vehicles from all supported locations in our booking engine, including airports, ports and selected hotels. For places not included in our booking engine you may contact us in advance.
PICK UP AND DROP OFF
This is free to most of our locations listed on our online system. For delivery to certain places there is a small extra cost. Please contact us for more information.
FREE CANCELLATION
You can cancel your reservation without any cost, up to 72 hours before picking-up your rental car.
GROUP AVALIABLE
Reservations can only be confirmed according to the car groups available on our website. All reservations are based on a vehicle category and not a certain car model. In case of no availability for a confirmed reservation, Balnea C.O. reserves the right to offer a vehicle of bigger category to the customer with no extra charge.
SAFE AND NEW CARS
By regulating the period of our car fleet and minibus to 3 - 4 years, we are competent of assuring you that we will be delivering a safe vehicle. All our cars are clean and well maintained.
NO ADDITIONAL CHARGES ON FLIGHT DELAYS
All our employees are always informed for your arrival time, as well as last minute flight schedule changes that might occur. They will wait for your arrival flight in order to deliver you the booked vehicle.
ROAD MAP, GPS SAT NAV
Upon delivery, you will get a recent map of Crete island free of charge. We can offer you a GPS Sat nav device (4.3" screen) with the most recent map of Greece, with latin character map, available in 17 languages. The cost is €5 per day. Advanced booking is required and minimum cost per rental is €30. The customer is liable for misplacing or damaging the GPS unit/mount to a maximum charge of €100.
BABY SEATS/BOOSTERS
In case of need, our Company can provide you a baby seat (<15kg) or a booster (>15kg). There is no charge. We must be informed in advance.
FUEL POLICY
Fuel is recorded on the car rental contract at the time of delivering the car at the start of the rental period and must be returned at the same level at the end of the journey. If you require a full tank of petrol, please contact us at the time of booking.
LOST KEYS
Balnea C.O. vehicle keys are chip-coded and are costly and timely items to replace. If you loose the car keys, you will be obliged to pay for its replacement (approximately 80.00€ -250.00€ depending on the car model) plus any associated transport and time costs in order to get the replacement keys in your hands. Note: if a vehicle is stolen and keys are not returned to Balnea C.O., insurance is deemed void. Please take good care of the car keys while you are on holiday in Crete.
TYRES DAMAGES
Non-repairable/burst tyres are not covered by the insurance. If the tyre is repairable the customer may repair it and the company is obliged to refund any costs.
ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE
Roadside Assistance is free of charge and available 24/7. Our Roadside assistance Telephone: +306944474768 when calling from International mobile phones.
It is recommended to contact our office directly in the event of required roadside assistance.All direct calls to our office are diverted to our emergency mobile phone line.
ALL OUR CARS ARE COVERED BY 24/7 ROAD ASSISTANCE
Any mechanical problem you may face with your car or in the unfortunate event of an accident, you have to report it immediately to the car hire company, whose telephone numbers are shown on your rent a car voucher. All contact details are always provided up on delivery by our representatives. Our help center support will receive your calls at any time and we will try to help you in the best way. In case of breakdown or in case of accident, your car will be replaced, with another same or bigger size as soon as possible. Any damage caused to the vehicle due to off-road driving, will not be covered by road assistance.
CAR REPLACEMENT
In case of the unfortunate event of an accident/breakdown resulting in the immobilisation of the vehicle, your car will be replaced with another one within 24 hours from the time the accident/breakdown has been reported. Our company has the right to investigate the causes of the accident/breakdown and deny the replacement of the car if the use of the car was against terms & conditions.
RENTAL OUTSIDE THE BORDER AND FERRIES
Is forbidden. In all cases the renter is fully responsible for all charges and damages.
TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS, TRAFFIC FINES AND ADMINISTRATIVE SANCTIONS
Tickets and appended administrative sanctions resulting from any violation of the Greek Traffic law during rental period, is solely the renter's responsibility. If any such administrative sanction is not disclosed to the company at the end of the rental period (contract), the violation will be charged to the renter.
ACCIDENT
In case of an accident, the renter must contact our company immediately via our 24/7 helpline in order to receive instructions on how to handle the situation. You are not allowed to leave the incident place without reporting the accident.Also, you must inform the authorities and a police report must be made. If the police don't carry out a report, then the renter is fully accountable for the repairs to the car.
USE OF CAR
The renter is obliged to follow the terms and conditions of the rental agreement. The renter is expected to look after the rental car carefully.
THE RENTER IS NOT COVERED
While driving under the influence of illegal substances (i.e. alcohol or drugs)
For damages caused by driving on unpaved roads (Preveli, Balos)
For damages caused to the under body of the car
When transporting the vehicle by ferry
When carrying people or objects for hire (taxi or courier service)
The renter violates traffic rules (eg. road/STOP signs, speed limits, road direction, U-turns)
The renter violates parking rules.
When towing other vehicles or trailers
When racing or participating in any contest
For loss of personal belongings
For accidents or damages caused by a driver not declared in the rental contract
For loss or damage of the vehicle key
For loss or destruction of Navigation GPS device, child seats
